As you've noticed by now, my programs address the way the people in your organization work together and communicate. It's MORE than the material taught - it's about the people who attend. So when you buy a program from me, you're also buying me as the instructor. I want to introduce you to a personal side of…me!

When I was growing up, I was kind of average in school as far as the grades went. Where I excelled, was in my "interpersonal capabilities." Many times, in the comments on my report cards appeared the words: "Elaine talks too much." I guess it's always been a natural skill! My parents were college professors by day…teaching Effective Speaking, Language and Thought, and Astronomy. In their off hours they were amateur magicians taking children's magic shows to schools and appearing live on the Romper Room show every Christmas morning as I was growing up! This must account for my love of speaking and enjoying the ability to try new and different things. Growing up was FUN…and full of exciting experiences.

As an adult, I try to pass along that love of life to my own family. My husband Larry has been a teacher for 33 years…encouraging his students to understand and appreciate math (something I can't imagine!). Our son Bryan has picked up this knowledge, along with an enjoyment of people. He is a freshman at Kansas University majoring in Engineering and Business. I attend The National Speakers Association annual conventions and Bryan has gone with me for 9 years as a participant in their Youth Leadership Program. For the past 2 years he has been a staff counselor in the same program. This is something we do together each year.

I have the opportunity to do a lot of traveling in my business, but when I'm home, I like to design and make quilts. The history of quilts deals a lot with the history of people…a particular aspect I like. Click on the quilts link to see some photos of quilts and some interesting history I thought you might like. But something I DON'T like is cooking. I just never learned how. So if you need quick and good dishes to cook, click on the recipes link to pick up some of my QUICK and EASY favorites. Or…email me the name of your favorite restaurant because I just might be traveling to your area. Enjoy this page!
